The Hugo Cocktail

When entertaining, I always like to greet our guests with a cocktail. My absolute favorite to make is the “Hugo.” This little known drink originates in the North of Italy. It’s fresh, light and a great conversation starter as a lot of people have never heard of it. Be sure to serve it up the next time you’re hosting or if you have some Saint Germain that you don’t know what to do with. Your guests will surely be be impressed.

HUGO COCKTAIL RECIPE

1 Shot Elderflower liqueur (Saint Germain)

Fresh Mint Leaves

A splash of Sparking Water

A slice of Fresh Lime

1 cup of Prosecco

Ice Cubes

Add ice to a tumbler or wine glass (I personally like a lot of ice).

Rub fresh mint leaves together to bring out thier aroma and drop them into the glass. The more mint you use, the mintier the taste.

Add a shot of elderflower liqueur. If you want the drink sweeter, add more.

Add about a cup of Prosecco, a splash of sparkling water and a slice of lime.

Voila! You’ve got your Hugo.

Enjoy!
